Meet Dr. Alla Skalnyi

I believe in partnering with my patients through education, diagnosis, progressive treatment options and ongoing care, while assuring a comfortable experience in what can be an uncomfortable setting.

Sincerely,
Alla Skalnyi

Dr. Alla Skalnyi was born and raised in Moldova Republic (former USSR) in the family of Vill and Eudochia Stratulat.

Compassion, love for people and value of human life lies deep in the roots of her family, with a long tradition of helping those who could not help themselves. During World War II, Alla’s father, Vill, grandmother, Ecaterina, and great grandmother, Varvara, took proactive steps and risked their lives to save the lives of Jews, by rescuing and hiding them in their attics during German occupation (1941-1944). In 1963, Yad Vashem (The Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority) embarked upon a worldwide project to grant the title of "Righteous Among the Nations" to non-Jews who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust. As of 2007 there are over 22,000 people in the world who were awarded this title. Three of them were members of Dr. Skalnyi's family.

After graduating from high school Alla made a decision to dedicate her life to medicine. In 1977 she applied and was accepted to the State Medical & Pharmaceutical University "Nicolae Testemitanu" in Chisinau, Moldova, from which she successfully graduated in 1983. Upon completing her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, for over a decade, she served as an attending Ob/Gyn physician at the First Municipal Hospital in Chisinau, Moldova.

Following her immigration to the United States Dr. Skalnyi successfully passed all the tests required for the foreign medical graduates and, in 2005, joined an Ob/Gyn residency program at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. After two years of training in Detroit, she continued, and in 2010, completed her Ob/Gyn training at Kern Medical Center / UCLA in Bakersfield, CA. During her residency Dr. Skalnyi received the “Best Teaching Resident Award” in 2008 and "The Resident of the Year Award" in 2010.

Dr. Skalnyi is a fully licensed Obstetrician/Gynecologist in the State of California. Dr. Alla Skalnyi is married. Her husband Eugene is also an Ob/Gyn physician and for the past 15 years has focused his efforts on developing new minimally invasive technologies for gynecology. Eugene and Alla have three children: Max, Ludmila and Michelle.
